Tonight St. Louis will meet Arizona in Phoenix at 8:40 pm.  Right-hander Mike Mikolas will open for the Cards and left-hander Tommy Perry for the Diamondbacks.

In another right vs. left matchup in Florida, Brady Singer will be pitching against Shane McClanahan as The Royals take on the Rays again in Tampa tonight at 6:10 pm.  

Last night Albert Pujols hit his 690th home run and made it a dramatic pinch-hit grand slam, his career 16th, driving in five runs. Adam Wainwright pitched seven sharp innings and the St. Louis Cardinals routed the Colorado Rockies 13-0 Thursday for a three-game sweep.

Pujols added an RBI single. Lars Nootbaar hit a two-run homer. Paul Goldschmidt added two doubles and a single.

Pujols is now tied with Hank Aaron, Babe Ruth and Dave Kingman for 10th-most slams of all-time.

Also last night, the Royals met the Rays in St. Petersburg. The Rays’ Luis Patiño pitched strongly into the sixth inning, Yandy Díaz drove in three runs, and the Tampa Bay Rays beat the Kansas City Royals 7-1.
