A protest against the Grain Belt Express power lines at the Public Service Commission (PSC) is today at 10:00 a.m.
The “Tiger Connector” project, owned by Invenergy, includes a 40-mile electric transmission line through Audrain and Callaway counties.
Protest organizers are concerned that local rates will increase and they are happy with current relationships and rates with Missouri non-profit energy co-ops. They also express concern that the power will not benefit Missouri stakeholders as the line extends into Illinois.
The protest will run from 10:00 a.m until 1:00 p.m. at 200 Madison Street in Jefferson City.
