The Cardinals went down to the Cincinnati Reds last night 5 – 1. Former St. Louis catcher Austin Romine hit a two-run homer.

Albert Pujols went 0 for 2 and was hit by pitch from Justin Dunn that caromed off his chest and caught his right forearm in the second inning.

Last night the Kansas City Royals gave the Chicago White Sox their fifth straight loss, 9-7.

Salvador Perez and Michael A. Taylor each homered and drove in three runs for the Royals, while Rookie Nick Pratto hit two home runs, making a career-high four-hit performance, including a double and three RBI.
