Man Jailed After Assaulting Mexico Public Safety Officer

A man is in jail and a Mexico Public Safety officer is recovering following an incident last (Monday) night on West Monroe.

According to Mexico Public Safety, they were called to a domestic disturbance in the area of Hardee’s.

Officers located the female victim and while talking with her, the male party walked away.

Officers located the male, Brandon Green, on the parking lot of Donut Palace and while officers were speaking with him, Green tried to run off.

When the officer tried to stop him, Green assaulted the officer, got into the vehicle of a citizen who was trying to assist the officer, left the scene and returned to his home where he left the stolen vehicle.

Green then fled in his own vehicle and was ultimately taken into custody on I-70 by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Green is in the Audrain County Jail on charges of third degree domestic assault, assault of a law enforcement officer, tampering with a motor vehicle, and resisting arrest.

The Mexico Public Safety officer was treated at the scene and released.
