
The first round of the 98th Annual Bowling Green Tourney is in the books.
In girls action last night, Elsberry beat Van-Far 47 – 29, North Callaway defeated Clopton 45 – 41, Winfield defeated Bowling Green 49 – 44 and Silex bested Louisiana 64 – 57.
Elsberry takes on North Callaway tomorrow night at 5:30 while Winfield gets Silex at 6:50 for a chance at the finals.
On the consolation side, Van-Far battles Clopton at 5:30 tomorrow night and it’s a Pike County matchup between Bowling Green and Louisiana at 6:50.
It’s the first round of boys action tonight.
At 5:30 it’s first seeded Elsberry taking on 8th-seeded Silex and the #4 seed Louisiana taking on the fifth seeded Van-Far Indians.
At 6:50, it’s a battle of the second and seventh seeds, Clopton and Bowling Green as well as #3 North Callaway taking on the sixth seed Winfield.

Mexico boys basketball pick up a trio of wins at the Mexico High School Sports Complex last night.
Mexico 9th grade won over Boonville 52 – 16 to improve to 8 – 3 on the season.
Mexico JV remain undefeated at 8 – 0 after beating Boonville 57 – 48.
In varsity action, Mexico improves to 12 – 5 overall with their 66 – 40 win over Boonville.
Next up for the Bulldogs, a home game Thursday for the varsity and JV squads as they host Father Tolton.

The Blues skate on home ice tonight as they host the Buffalo Sabres, puck drops at 7:00.
