Results Of Mark Twain Lake Survey Indicate Economic Boost Possible

Mark Twain Lake could benefit from a new resort according to a recent study.

The study, conducted by PGAV and funded through the Mark Twain Regional Council of Governments and Ralls County, concludes that the area could see a benefit from a new resort.

That resort could be in the form of a marina, hotel, a golf course, or other options and there are no plans for any as of yet.

The most likely location of any new construction would be on the north side of the dam in the Monroe City School District.

Barriers to the project could be construction costs, operating costs, and marketing.
