The League Of Women Voters of Mexico-Audrain County hosted a candidate forum tonight (Thursday) for Mexico City Council and Mexico Board of Education candidates.
An estimated crowd of 250 filled the pickleball court at the Mexico Area Family YMCA to hear the candidates share their qualifications for the office for which they are running as well as what issues are facing their respective elected body.
Alice Leonatti served as moderator for the evening.
The crowd heard from City Council candidates Steve Haag, Johnny Loveless, Joshua Price, Erik Richardson, and Larry Webber.
School Board candidates Dusty Blue, Jessica Johnson Ekern, Mathew Pilger, Michelle Stephens, Kelli Teel and Todd Yager. Candidates Jennifer Gore and Kara Clovis addressed the crowd before questioning began, sharing why they were each withdrawing from the race.
