Elderly couple and family pet perish in Audrain County blaze
A deadly fire in Audrain County Saturday, has killed an elderly couple. Names of the victims are being withheld pending notification of all relatives.
The Little Dixie Fire Protection District was notified shortly after 9am on Saturday morning of a structure fire at 251 Highway Z, north of Mexico.
Upon arrival crews found the structure totally consumed by the fire, with debris still burning. A Ford Escape parked near the home was also burning at the time. Crews extinguished the fire bringing it under control in approximately 15 minutes.
Two bodies and that of a dog were found perished in the fire.
A neighbor discovered the blaze which is under investigation by the Missouri State Fire Marshal Office.
