Jaydon Eldridge, Austin Maxwell, Tyson Carr and Landyn Kleinsorge each entered the game as relief, After Highland scored all of their runs in the first four innings, the Mexico bullpen combined for five shutout innings.
Mexico played the Illinois team at Busch Stadium right after the conclusion of the St. Louis Cardinal/Atlanta Braves game.

The St. Louis Cardinals lost 5-2 to the Atlanta Braves at Busch Stadium yesterday (Wednesday). The Redbirds were swept in the three-game series by the Braves. One bright spot in the game was Cardinals rookie Jordan Walker, who blasted his first major league home run. St. Louis is off today (Thursday) as they travel to Milwaukee starting a series with the Brewers tomorrow (Friday) night on their first road trip of the season.
The Kansas City Royals were shut out 3-0 by the Toronto Blue Jays at the K. Royals rookie manager Matt Quatraro missed the game after testing positive for COVID. Bench coach Paul Hoover will serve as interim skipper until he returns. The Royals are off to a 1-4 start.
