KXEO Sports Report 4/8/23

In high school baseball today (Saturday) the Mexico Bulldogs will play in a triangular in Ashland. The Bulldogs play the host team Southern Boone at 11am and then Richmond at 1pm.

The St. Louis Cardinals were shut-out 4-0 by the Milwaukee Brewers on the road last (Friday) night. St. Louis starter Jack Flaherty gave up two runs on four hits in five innings, however walked six. The Redbirds had chances to put offense in the game with the bases loaded in the 4th and 6th innings, however were unable to score. St. Louis has now lost four in a row, while the Brewers are riding a six game winning streak. Game two of the series takes place tonight (Saturday) with a 6:10 first pitch.

The Kansas City Royals put a halt to their three-game losing streak with a 3-1 win over the San Francisco Giants. Salvador Perez hit a solo home run for the Royals. Kansas City and San Francisco are back at it at 3:05 this (Saturday) afternoon.
