Mexico Man Injured In Mini Motorcycle Accident

A Mexico man is recovering from minor injuries following an accident yesterday (Wednesday) in Mexico.

Mexico Public Safety responded to the area of Boulevard and Calhoun around 3:13 yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon.

According to a news release officers spoke with 28-year-old Jason Rioux, who stated he was operating a mini motorcycle on Boulevard and tried to pass a school bus traveling in front of him.

Rioux stated the bus then started to switch lanes and he swerved to avoid a collision.

Rioux lost control of the mini motorcycle and left the roadway.

The man did not require medical assistance. Mexico Public Safety is reminding residents that it is illegal and unsafe to operate motorized play vehicles on the streets.

Motorized vehicles that can be legally operated on the streets can and should be licensed through the state of Missouri, or meet the definition of a moped or motorized bicycle.
