Mexico High School’s Brendan McKeown will play two more matches in State Tennis Tournament today (Saturday).

McKeown picked up a win in the opening round of the State Tennis Tournament yesterday (Friday).

McKeown won 6-3, 6-2 against Monett. McKeown then played a really good Savannah player and lost.

McKeown rebounded and beat Monett 7-6, 6-1.

Brendan plays Clayton’s Spencer Pompian at 9am Saturday morning in the Semi-Consolation Match and will play for 5th or 7th depending on the result of the match.

McKeown has already earned All-State honors.

Mizzou softball defeated California 5-1 in the Opening Round in the Norman Regional’s in the NCAA Tournament last (Friday) night.

Mu had eight hits in the outing, including a two-run homer from outfielder Alex Honnold. Mizzou will meet the No. 1 overall seed and two-time defending national champions Oklahoma Sooners in the first of three games today (Saturday) at 2pm.

The St. Louis Cardinals were shut-out 5-0 by the Los Angeles Dodgers at Busch Stadium last (Friday) night.

Just one night after the Redbirds launched seven home runs, the offense went quiet with just two hits.

Nolan Gorman and Nolan Arenado each extended their hitting streaks to 10.

The Cardinals play again tonight at Busch. First pitch at 6:15.

The Kansas City Royals lost 2-0 to the Chicago White Sox on the road.
