Man Pleads Guilty To JCCC Murder

An inmate has pleaded guilty in relation to a murder at the Jefferson City Correctional Center in August of 2014.

Thirty eight year year old Randy Teter admitted to the amended charge. He was originally indicted by a Cole County Grand Jury on one count of first degree murder.

The victim, 35 year old Mark Melton, was assaulted by Teter who was his cell mate.

Melton died from being stomped on his head a throat.

Teter is slated to be sentenced in April.
