Mexico Woman Arrested After Taking Mexico Public Safety Department Officer On A Vehicle Pursuit

A Mexico woman is facing multiple charges after an arrest on Monday, July 3, 2023, where she is accused of taking a Mexico Public Safety officer on a vehicle pursuit.

According to Mexico Public Safety an officer responded to a report of stealing in the 2800 block of South Clark.

The suspect vehicle was seen by an officer in the 1000 block of West Monroe and attempted to stop it, however the driver identified by Mexico Public Safety as 30-year-old Brittnie N. Phillips-Bey refused to pull over and took the officer on a pursuit for about seven blocks, nearly striking another vehicle, before pulling into the driveway in the 500 block of West Love.

Phillips-Bey was arrested and eventually taken to the Audrain County Jail for Stealing, Failing to Yield to an Emergency Vehicle, Resisting Arrest, and 4 counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
