Three Mexico teens were taken to Mexico Public Safety after a report of suspicious activity at shuttered hospital building overnight.
According to a news release Mexico Public Safety Department responded to the 600 block of East Monroe just after midnight.
Security at the former Audrain Medical Center building reported seeing three juveniles around the building, possibly attempting to get in.
The CEO of the shuttered hospital Amanda Shurtz says a rock was thrown and a window was broken out early Thursday morning.
Shurtz says a similar incident happened over the weekend, however no damage was done.
Officers located the juveniles, two of them 16-years-old and one of them 15-years-old, and detained them this (Wednesday), morning.
After an investigation they were released to their parents.
Mexico Public Safety says referrals will be forwarded to the 12th Circuit Court, Juvenile Division, for Property Damage and Minor in Possession of Alcohol.
