Mexico High School Baseball Hosts Capital City And Battle In Back-To-Back Games

The Mexico Bulldogs baseball team played two games in Mexico on Friday, May 10, 2024.

In game 1 the Bulldogs fell 4-1 to Capital City.

Austin Maxwell was the starting pitcher for Mexico and went four innings and struck out two batters.

Sam Ryan went 1-for-3 at the plate with 1 RBI.

Kaden Benne, Sam Ryan, and Cooper Bledsoe each collected one hit for the Bulldogs.

In game 2 Mexico’s offense woke up with an 11-0 shutout victory over the Battle Spartans.

Mexico scored seven runs in the sixth inning. Sam Ryan earned the victory for the Bulldogs.

The right-handed starting pitcher allowed two hits and struck out four batters.

Kaden Benne collected the save.

Mexico piled up 11 hits in the game.

Sam Ryan, Drew DeMint, Jaydon Eldridge, and Brady Fox each collected two hits for Mexico.

DeMint led the way for the Bulldogs with three RBI.

The Bulldogs are 15-16 on the season.

Up next Mexico will play Father Tolton in round one of the Class 4 District Tournament on Tuesday, May 15, 2024.
