Mexico Board Of Education Fills Vacant Board Seat During Special Session

Lennette Brown has been chosen to fill a vacant seat on the Mexico Board of Education.

Brown was voted in by Mexico Board of Education members during a special session tonight (Tuesday).

The board interviewed the three applicants who applied which included Brown, and Erik Richardson and Chris Williams.

Brown was selected to to serve on the Board of Education until the next election in April 2024.

Brown says some of her goals while serving on the board include wanting the kids to have a good education.

The remainder of the term for Brown’s seat, which is two years, will be added to the ballot for the April election.

Individuals wishing to file for this seat in April will be asked to specify it is for the two-year term.

There will also be two seats with three-year terms on the ballot, which are currently held by Keith Louder and Michelle Cobb Stephens.

Board filing opens and closes in December.
