Mexico High School Cross Country Competes At Fifth Annual Gans Creek Classic In Columbia
The Mexico Bulldogs Cross Country team made a trip to CoMo on Saturday, September 23 to compete in one of the biggest meets of the year, at the 5th Annual Gans Creek Classic.
Mexico head coach Lucas Brenneman says “This event brings in the top runners and teams from all over the state, the course was built for the sport of cross country, and the weather was pleasant. Add all that up and we saw 12 of the 16 Mexico runners that competed run their best times of the season.”
Mexico competed in the Blue Division for both Varsity and JV races.
On the Girls side it was Sophmore Maggie Ramsey who led the way finishing 62nd out of 279 runners with her 22:19.
The Boys Varsity team were led by Juniors Hunter Bickell and Tyler Grimes who finished 69th and 70th out of 293 runners with near identical times of 18:22.20 and 18:22.30.
On the JV side Senior William Bingham was the first to cross the line finishing 77th out of 196 runners.
