Mexico Mayor Vicki Briggs Proclaims Monday, September 25, 2023 As Dolly Jesse Recognition Day

A longtime Mexico city employee Dolly Jesse received some recognition with several proclamations during Monday night’s Mexico City Council meeting.

Jesse was recognized for her 45 years of service for the City of Mexico with a proclamation from Missouri State Representative Kent Hayden.

Mexico Mayor Vicki Briggs presented Jesse with a proclamation declaring Monday, September 25, 2023 as a day to recognize Dolly Jesse.

Dolly is a lifelong resident of Mexico and a graduate of Mexico High School. She started as a COE student in June 1977 in the Clerk/Finance Department.

Jesse then became a full-time employee on July 1st, 1978 as the Utility Billing Clerk.

During her employment she received several promotions and became the Deputy City Clerk on May 30, 1985 and assumed the duties of Deputy City Clerk/Collector on July 2010.

Jesse retired on July 27, 2023 and never had another job.
