One person is dead following an apartment building fire in Mexico on early in the morning on Monday, October 9, 2023.
According to Mexico Public Safety Chief Brice Mesko crews responded to 203 East Jackson just before 3am and found the fire coming from a second story apartment window.
Mexico Public confirmed that a woman died in the fire who was on the second story.
Her identity has not been released as next of kin is being notified. Some pets also perished in the fire.
Chief Mesko says Mexico Public Safety will remain on the scene through out most of the day.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
