The Callaway County Sheriff’s Office sent out the following press release on 10/8/2023:
The Callaway County Sheriff’s Office is announcing the arrest of 38 year old Michael Storm Mullett of Fulton, owner and operator of Meadowlark Outfitters LLC, a firearms dealer based in Fulton, following an extensive investigation that began on May 10, 2023.
Sheriff’s Office investigators started an investigation after receiving numerous complaints from victims who had made purchases from Meadowlark Outfitters but never received their products.
The investigation revealed a complex web of fraudulent activities.
Mullett is facing a multitude of charges, including forgery, fraudulent use of a credit/debit device, identity theft, attempted identity theft, fraudulent purchase of firearms, and stealing, both misdemeanor and felony charges.
The charges encompass a wide range of victims and illegal activities.
This investigation uncovered a pattern of deceit, identity theft, and financial fraud committed by Mullett against a wide range of victims, including his own family members, former customers, and associates who had no idea that Mullett’s had opened lines of credit or businesses in their names.
On October 6, 2023 the Callaway County Prosecutor’s Office formally charged Mullet with the following offenses:
– 17 x Forgery (Felony)
– 2 x Fraudulent Use of a Credit/Debit Device (Felony)
– 3 x Fraudulent Purchase of a Firearm
– 3 x Identity Theft (Felony)
– 5 x Stealing over $750 (Felony)
– 3 x Attempted Identity Theft (Misdemeanor)
– 4 x Stealing (Misdemeanor)
Michael Storm Mullett is currently in custody and a Judge has denied bond.
