Fulton Man Charged With Attempted Enticement Of Fourteen-Year-Old Girl

A Fulton man is charged with attempted enticement of a child and tampering with both a victim and evidence in Callaway County.

33-year-old Shawn Weber is accused of sending inappropriate text messages to a 14-year-old girl.

According to court documents investigators with the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office spoke with the girl on November 6th and said she told them she had been receiving text messages that were sexual.

Investigators said the victim gave them screenshots of the texts and the phone number and address they came from.

They said the text conversation started on October 27, and Weber tried to talk the girl into meeting alone, telling her it was to be a secret.

The investigators said, through the Callaway County Assessor’s Office, they confirmed the number and address belonged to Weber.

Investigators said Weber admitted to sending the texts and that he deleted some of them.

Prosecutors charged him with felony counts of Attempted Enticement of a Child, Tampering with a Victim in a Felony Prosecution, and a misdemeanor count of Tampering with Physical Evidence.

He was booked into the Callaway County Jail on November 7, and held without bond.

At an initial hearing yesterday (Wednesday), Weber appeared by video and was arraigned on the charges.
