Columbia Man Arrested In Connection To Motor Vehicle Thefts In Mexico

A Columbia man is facing charges after an arrest in connection to thefts in Mexico the night of Tuesday, November 14, 2023.

According to Mexico Public Safety around 7pm, observant residents notified officers about some suspicious activity involving people looking in vehicles in the area of the 300 block of North Washington.

Later in the night around 10:30pm, information from other residents led to the arrest of 29-year-old Steven A. Parker of Columbia.

Public Safety says evidence was collected, linking Parker to some thefts in Mexico and Columbia. Parker was processed at Mexico Public Safety Department and released and an investigation is continuing into his activities and cases will be forwarded to the Audrain County Prosecutor for warrants and charges.
