Mexico High Academic Finishes Up First Half Of The Season Red Hot Securing Schenewerk’s 500th Career Victory As Head Coach

It was a milestone in the career of the head coach for the Mexico High School Academic team this weekend in Columbia.

Mexico A competed as the top seed of 41 of the best teams in the state at the MOQBA Fall Tournament and completed a clean sweep of the field on Saturday, December 9, 2023.

Mexico A picked up a win over Polo which marked Dale Schenewerk’s 500th career victory as the Mexico High Academic Team’s head coach.

Mexico’s Camden Williams was the top scorer in the tournament with 1,570 points.

Mexico A picked up victories over Hallsville B, Calvary Lutheran, Summit Christian, Jefferson City, Weableau, Polo, Webster Groves, Ladue, College Heights Christian and Parkway West.

Mexico A ended the tournament with a 60-2 record on the season with 5 tournament championships and a 2nd place finish in 6 tournaments.

Up next will be action on January 13th as the A and B teams head to Schuyler County and the C and D teams head to JV State at North Point.
