Former Mexico School District Paraprofessional Arrested After Reports Of Excessive Discipline

An investigation is underway in Mexico after a paraprofessional for the Mexico School District was arrested on December 13, 2023.

According to Mexico Public Safety Chief Brice Mesko his department received a report of what could be conceived as excessive discipline and a criminal investigation was launched.

A woman who worked for the Mexico School District as a paraprofessional was arrested and released Mesko says the child in question was not injured.

The name of the suspect is not being released at this time pending formal charges.

The Mexico School District released the following statement saying “Recently, the district was made aware of a non-sexual incident involving a paraprofessional. The district took active steps to review and address any concerns thoroughly and promptly. The individual is no longer an employee of the school district.”
