Principals at McMillan Early Learning Center and Hawthorne Elementary in the Mexico School District have earned two of three northeast regional principal awards for the Missouri Association of Elementary Principals (NEMAESP).
Dr. Anne Billington was named the Distinguished Principal.
Dr. Billington has been the principal at McMillan Early Learning Center for the past five years and served in public education for 20 years.
And Mrs. Katie Lehnen was named Exemplary New Principal.
Mrs. Lehnen has served as lead principal at Hawthorne for two years.
She has been an educator for 18 years, all but one year with Mexico School District.
Dr. Billington and Mrs. Lehnen will be recognized and receive their awards in March at the Missouri Association of Elementary Principals annual state conference.
