Mexico Animal Shelter Closed Until Further Notice
The Mexico Animal Shelter will be closed until further notice after a fire on Thursday, December 14, 2023.
The City of Mexico notified the public on a social media post saying all animals were rescued from the fire and are being cared for at the Mexico Animal Hospital and the Audrain Veterinary Clinic.
The south portion of the building suffered significant fire damage and the north section suffered smoke and water damage.
The cause of the fire has not yet been released.
