Mexico Public Safety reports the arrest of 52-year-old Ayanna I. Shivers on December 29, 2023
According to Mexico Public Safety Chief Brice Mesko the department responded to a report around 11:14pm of an impaired driver who had driven into a ditch at Ringo and Curtis.
Responding officers arrested Shivers.
She was processed at Mexico Public Safety and taken to the Audrain County Jail for DWI and Failure to Drive on the Right Half of the Roadway, both misdemeanors.
No injuries were reported in the accident.
Shivers was conditionally released by Judge Carroz at 11:30am on Saturday, December 30, 2023.
Shivers was selected as Mexico, Mo Mayor in April of 2019 and served on the Mexico City Council until April 2023.
