Just several days after winning the program’s first New Year’s Six Bowl, Mizzou gave head football coach Eli Drinkwitz a new contract.
The contract extension runs through the 2028 season.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed in a new release announcing the extension.
Mizzou’s 11-2 final record following Friday’s win over Ohio State in the Cotton Bowl is the largest win total for the program since the 2014 season.
The Kansas City Chiefs clinched their eighth consecutive division title with their 25-17 win over the Cincinnati Bengals, along with a ninth straight playoff berth and an opening-round home game.
The Chiefs close the regular season on the road on Sunday at the Los Angeles Chargers.
