Cause Of Mexico House Fire On North Alabama Under Investigation

The cause of a fire at home in Mexico is under investigation.

Mexico Public Safety responded to the fire in the 100 block of North Alabama just after 9pm on Tuesday, January 2, 2024.

Responding personnel found flame coming from the front of a home.

The fire was extinguished but the front portion of the house suffered significant fire damage while the rest of the house had significant smoke and water damage.

Mexico Public Safety says the owner of the home had left just prior to the fire starting and could not offer any information about what started the fire.

Public Safety reports the fire appeared to have started in the area of a living room chair.

There were no injuries from the incident.
