Mexico Public Safety responded to 13 crashes, slide-offs, or stranded motorists during the afternoon of Monday, January 8, 2024.
Public Safety says the accident happened from around 3:30 Monday afternoon to 8am Tuesday morning as the snow began moving through the area.
Mexico Public Safety says the City of Mexico Street Department and Missouri Department of Transportation are working to keep the roadways passable, but as rain and snow continue and temperatures fall, drivers should continue to use caution.
Residents are reminded to minimize travel during this timeframe and if you are out, drive slowly enough to account for slick roadways.
