Mexico High School Activities Director Brandon Schafer Previews 134th Highway 54 Bowl
The Mexico Bulldogs and Fulton Hornets will clash in one of high school football’s biggest rivalries during the 134th Highway 54 Bowl in Mexico on Friday, October 4, 2024.
Mexico High School activities director Brandon Schafer says this is a match-up that started in 1920.
Here is a rough run down of the night:
4pm: Gates open up for Military Branches and organizations to set up tables.
This is a first come, first serve on location.
ALL tables will be in the South end of the field, near the concession stand.
5pm: Senior BBQ Fundraiser opens in North end parking lot. Gates open for general admission.
‘Fill the Boot’ donations are taken at gates.
(Military style boots on tables for donations – proceeds going to Missouri Veterans Home).
Canopy set up on South end of track for Missouri Veterans Home residents.
7pm: Game starts.
Army participating in coin toss.
Tentatively, between 1st & 2nd Quarters, Armed Forces Medley played recognizing those in attendance (stand when branches song is played).
Half time MS band plays with HS band.
Optimist Fall Sports athletes are recognize (not sure when this happens).
Student section theme is USA.
