Calls for service:

Mexico Public Safety responded to the following calls for service over the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend starting on Friday, January 12, 2024:

  • Domestic verbal incident on North Wade.
  • Threats at Bougainville.
  • Ex-parte violation on South Calhoun.
  • Waterline break at Fairground Road/Breckenridge.
  • Suspicious activity on Harwood.
  • Assault with injury at Amelia Drive.

Public Safety went to these calls on Saturday, January 13, 2024:

  • Suspicious vehicle on Lakeview Road.
  • Unwanted subject at Vance Road.
  • Threats at the South Jefferson apartment building and on Vance Road.
  • Leaving the scene of an accident at East Breckenridge.
  • Animal abuse or neglect on Woodlawn.
  • Domestic verbal incident at West Robinson.

Mexico Public Safety responded to the following calls on Sunday, January 14, 2024:

  • Unwanted subject on North Alabama and at the East Liberty apartment building.
  • Structure fire on South Morris Street.
  • Trespassing at 808 East Liberty.
  • Careless and imprudent driver on South Clark.
  • Suspicious person at Mars.
  • Shoplifting on West Monroe.
  • Assault without injury at Summit.

Mexico Public Safety responded to the following calls for service on Monday, January 15, 2024:

  • Natural gas odor on South Morris Street and on West Monroe and at North Kentucky/Moreland.
  • Suspicious noise on Robinhood.
  • Shoplifting at 4820 South Clark.
  • Careless and imprudent driver on East Monroe.
  • Trespassing at Vance Road.

Car accidents:

No injuries reported following a two-car accident reported at 402 North Missouri on Saturday, January 13, 2024.

According to the Mexico Public Safety accident report it happened when a vehicle driven by 27-year-old Daniel Jacob Smith of Mexico was backing out of a driveway and struck the passenger side sliding door of a vehicle driven by 51-year-old Laura Weingartner of Hartsburg.

 

Mexico Public Safety responded to a separate accident on South Clark on Saturday, January 13, 2024.

According to the Mexico Public Safety accident report it happened when a vehicle driven by 83-year-old Michael Strowley of Mexico slowed to let a pedestrian cross the road and was rear ended by a vehicle driven by 34-year-old Virginia Minks of Mexico.

No injuries were reported.
