Mexico Public Safety Report 1/18/2024
Calls for service:
Mexico Public Safety responded to the following calls for service on Wednesday, January 17, 2024:
- Suspicious person at 808 East Liberty.
- Threats on West Street.
- Ex-parte violation at the Huntingfield apartment building.
Car accidents:
Mexico Public Safety responded to a two-car accident on Promenade at South Clark on Wednesday, January 17, 2024.
According to the accident report it happened when a vehicle driven by 73-year-old Ronnie Landis of Auxvasse had stopped at a stop sign and was rear ended by a vehicle driven by a 17-year-old Mexico boy.
Landis was evaluated by EMS for head pain, but declined transport to a medical facility.
The other driver was not injured.
Mexico Public Safety responded to a one-car accident at the Wal-Mart parking lot on Wednesday, January 17, 2024.
According to the accident report it happened just after noon, when a vehicle driven by 74-year-old Cheryl Snyder of Martinsburg was traveling south on the Wal-Mart parking lot and was preparing to turn east.
While turning the sun blinded Snyder, and she crashed and then drove over a stop-sign pole., lifting the passenger side off the ground.
The vehicle and pole sustained substantial damage.
No injuries were reported.
