Calls for service:
Mexico Public Safety responded to the following calls for service on Monday, January 22, 2024.
- Domestic verbal incident on South Muldrow and at South Jefferson.
- Domestic physical incident on South Kentucky.
- Suspicious noise at West Breckenridge.
- Runaway juvenile on North Grand.
- Stealing or theft at Lakeside Place.
- Trash dumping on South Kentucky.
Car accidents:
Mexico Public Safety responded to several slide-off accidents due to an ice storm on Monday, January 22, 2024.
The first accident happened around 7:30 on Monday morning on Anderson at Coal.
According to the accident report a City of Mexico salt spreading truck driven by 41-year-old Michael Platt of Mexico applied the brakes and start sliding off the road and struck a parked vehicle.
No injures were reported.
The second accident happened just after 8:30 on Monday morning on Anderson at Washington.
According to the accident report it happened when a vehicle driven by 53-year-old Albert Kirkwood of Paris, MO was traveling south on North Washington and slid off the road and struck a curb.
No injuries were reported.
The third accident happened around 11:23 am on Monday morning at West Whitley on North Olive.
According to the accident report a vehicle driven by 26-year-old Rickey Dawson of Mexico attempted to stop at a stop sign and crashed into an Ameren pole.
Significant damage was reported to the pole and it caused an outage in the area according to Mexico Public Safety.
Dawson and his passenger were uninjured.
The vehicle was towed from the scene.
