Mexico Public Safety Seeking Information From People Who Donated To Arson Suspect’s Go-Fund Me Account

Mexico Public Safety is asking anyone who donated to a GoFundMe page of a Mexico man accused of arson to contact them.

The Audrain County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged 42-year-old James Henry Schade with First Degree Arson in connection to the fire at the Nu-Tone Cleaners building that took place on Saturday, February 3rd.

Mexico Public Safety has learned that a Go-Fund Me Page was possibly created by Schade before the fire started.

Mexico Public Safety is currently waiting on subpoenas.

According to the probable cause statement video evidence showed Schade pacing outside the apartment with his dogs for 26 minutes and then leaving 15 minutes prior to smoke showing from the building.

He was also allegedly seen on video recovering a large bag of belongings that were hidden near the scene.

Officers later learned that Schade had been evicted and was due out of his apartment on the day of the fire.

Schade allegedly admitted to intentionally setting the fire by leaving a bag of chicken on the stove.
