Mexico Public Safety Department Report 2/26/2024

Arrests:

Mexico Public Safety reports the arrest of 58-year-old Tom L. Herndon for a City of Mexico warrant.

Calls for service:

Mexico Public Safety responded to the following calls for service over the weekend starting on Friday, February 23, 2024:

  • Harassment on Carson.
  • Stealing or theft at Littleby Road.
  • Scam on Lakeview Road.
  • Careless and imprudent driver at North Washington and Perry.
  • Suspicious person on North Clark.
  • Suspicious vehicle at South Clark.

Public Safety went to the following calls for service on Saturday, February 24, 2024:

  • Property damage at the South Clark apartment building.
  • Fight in progress on Howell Manor Court.
  • Neighbor dispute at Marine Drive.
  • Suspicious person on North Olive and at North Jefferson.
  • Domestic physical incident on East Love.
  • Trespassing at Howell Manor Court.

Mexico Public Safety responded to the following calls Sunday, February 25, 2024.

  • Suspicious person on Summit/Calhoun and at West Jackson.
  • Stealing or theft at 4820 South Clark.
  • Neighbor dispute on Marine Drive.
  • Domestic physical incident at West Love.
  • Careless and imprudent driver on West Monroe/Western.
  • Drug activity in progress at the Vance Road apartments.

Car Accidents:

A two-car accident on South Clark at West Boulevard on Saturday, February 24, 2024.

According to the Mexico Public Safety accident report it happened when a vehicle driven by 20-year-old Elizabeth Scott of Centralia did not observe a vehicle driven by 82-year-old Frank Volkmer of Mexico that was stopped in the turning lane of South Clark and West Boulevard.

Scott’s vehicle entered the turn lane and struck Volkmer’s vehicle.

No injuries were reported.

 

A two-car-accident at 4501 East Liberty on Friday, February 23, 2024.

According to the Mexico Public Safety accident report the driver of an unknown vehicle struck a parked vehicle owned by 39-year-old Jeffery Hoagland of Mexico in the parking lot of Stacey’s Place

No injuries were reported.
