The Mexico Bulldogs baseball team defeated the Eldon Mustangs 6-5 in eight innings on Friday, March 22, 2024.
The game was tied at five in the bottom of the eighth when Sam Ryan hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored.
Sam Ryan, Tyson Carr and Cooper Bledsoe combined for four of the Mexico’s six hits in their victory.
Landon Hilderman was Mexico’s starting pitcher and surrendered two hits and struck out two batters.
Zach Jahn pitched one inning of shutout ball for the Bulldogs allowing no hits and striking out one batter.
Cooper Bledsoe, Sam Ryan, Tyson Carr, and Austin Maxwell each collected two hits for Mexico.
Drew DeMint drew three walks in the victory.
With the win Mexico evened their record at 3-3 on the season.
Mexico plays a double header in Ashland on Saturday.
Game 1 will be against Hermann with a 1:30pm first pitch.
Game 2 will pit Mexico against Southern Boone with a 4pm first pitch.
