Mexico Missouri Native Paytience Holman Pitches Gem For SEMO In Upset Over 11th Ranked Missouri Tigers Softball

Southeast Missouri claimed the biggest win of its NCAA Division 1 era when it upset 11th ranked Missouri 1-0 at Mizzou Softball Stadium on Wednesday, April 3, 2024.

Mizzou’s four-game winning streak ended.

Mexico, Missouri native and SEMO starting pitcher Paytience Holman was lights out pitching out of a jam and retiring the final 14 hitters she faced.

Holman went the distance for her team-high fourth complete game and first shutout this year.

She allowed just three hits (all singles), struck out three and walked one in seven innings.

Holman recorded 16 fly ball outs as well.

Mizzou falls to 29-8 on the season.

SEMO improved to 13-20.

Holman helped lead the Mexico High School girls softball team to a state title in 2018.

Paytience is the daughter of Mark and Melissa Holman.
