A ceremony to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Exercise Tiger will take place in Mexico at the Audrain County Courthouse on Sunday, April 28th at 1pm.
Exercise Tiger was a World War 2 exercise where many men lost their lives, including some from Audrain County.
Speakers include State Representative Kent Hayden as well as Mexico Mayor Vicki Briggs and Audrain County Presiding Commissioner Alan Winders.
The US Navy will also have a sailor attend as will several Missouri Military Academy Cadets.
The public is invited to attend and all veterans who attend will receive medals at the Mexico Airport following the ceremony.
A cake reception and food will be provided at the airport free to all.
A 10 by 20 foot US Navy Battle Flag will be on display.
