The following press release was sent out from the Fulton Fire Department on Tuesday, April 30, 2024.
On Monday, April 29, 2024 at 9:02 p.m. the Fulton Fire Department was called to respond to a reported Commercial Structure Fire at 710 South Business 54.
Central Callaway Fire Protection District was also dispatched for auto-aid response. North Callaway Fire Protection
District was requested for mutual-aid response.
The first crew arrived four minutes later and found a single-story, commercial structure with heavy flames and smoke showing from the structure.
Fulton Police Department was on scene for crowd and traffic control.
Callaway County Ambulance District arrived on-scene for standby and firefighter rehab operations.
Fire crews began an aggressive interior fire attack and had to be withdrawn from the structure due to weakening of the roof.
Fire attack was continued from outside the structure.
Fire extinguishment took close to three hours to bring the fire under control.
