An Ashland man was killed and a Columbia man was seriously injured following a wrong-way crash on U.S. 63 in Columbia during the afternoon hours of Friday, May 3, 2024
According to the Columbia Police Department accident report it happened when a vehicle driven by 56-year-old Robert J. Heckman of Columbia was struck head-on by a vehicle going the wrong way in the southbound lanes of U.S. 63 near the I-70 connector driven by 84-year-old Allen D. Nichols of Ashland.
Heckman was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.
Nichols died at the scene.
