Mexico Public Safety Department Report 5/20/2024

Arrests:

A Mexico man and woman were arrested after being accused of Second Degree Burglary on Friday, May 17, 2024.

According to the Mexico Public Safety new release officers were called to 200 block of West Love Street on Friday morning in reference to a report of a burglary.

Responding officers found 40-year-old Juarez J. Jarmin and 37-year-old Whitney E. Lamberson of Mexico inside a vacant apartment.

Both were arrested and processed at Mexico Public Safety Department, then taken to the Audrain County Jail pending formal charges by the Audrain County Prosecuting Attorney.

No injuries were reported from the incident.

Mexico Public Safety responded to the following calls for service over the weekend starting on Friday, May 17, 2024:

  • Child abuse or neglect on West Breckenridge Road/Webster.
  • Burglary in progress at the West Love apartment building.
  • Stealing or theft on South Washington.
  • Vandalism at North Jefferson.
  • Threats on East Breckenridge.
  • Animal abuse or neglect at West Love.
  • Careless and imprudent driver at Providence and on Hendricks/Western.

 

Public Safety went to the following calls on Saturday, May 18, 2024:

  • Stealing or theft at 725 North Clark.
  • Threats on West Monroe.
  • Suspicious person at East Lafayette and East Monroe.
  • Animal abuse or neglect on West Lover and at East Monroe.
  • Careless and imprudent driver on Highway 54/Clark.
  • Public Safety went to the following calls for service on Sunday, May 19, 2024:
  • Trespassing at South Olive.
  • Shoplifting at 4820 South Clark.
  • Stealing or theft on Cleveland and at South Trinity and at 508 East Liberty.
  • Careless and imprudent driver on South Clark.

Car accidents:

No injuries reported following a two-car accident in Mexico on West Monroe at South Muldrow on Friday, May 18, 2024. According to the Mexico Public Safety accident report it happened when a vehicle driven by 47-year-old Sharon Judd of Moberly was turning south on Muldrow. Judd’s vehicle stopped due to a semitruck and was rear-ended by a vehicle driven by 32-year-old Courtney Holmes of Mexico.

No injuries reported in a two-car accident on Curtis at Wade on Saturday, May 18, 2024. According to the Mexico Public Safety accident report it happened when a vehicle driven by 28-year-old Maria Paola Garcia-Garcia was making a left turn onto Curtis and stated her vision was limited due to the sun. Garcia’s vehicle collided with the front of a vehicle driven by 68-year-old Jimmy Adams of Mexico.
