Mexico Public Safety Department Report for 5/28/2024

Calls for service:

Mexico Public Safety responded to the following calls for service over the Memorial Day Holiday weekend starting on Friday, May 24, 2024:

  • Domestic physical incident at Savannah Court/Curtis Street near West Monroe.
  • Property damage at 629 East Liberty.
  • Stealing or theft on North Mississippi and at 3001 South Clark and at East Promenade.
  • Threats on West Monroe.
  • Suspicious person at 3066 South Clark and on South Morris Street/Harwood.
  • Trespassing at Summit.

Mexico Public Safety went to the following calls for service on Saturday, May 25, 2024:

  • Burglary in progress at North Olive/Bourne.
  • Threats on North Jefferson.
  • Careless and imprudent driver at Rivers Drive and on South Clark and at Rosebud/Fairground.
  • Suspicious person on North Kentucky.
  • Property damage at 203 East Liberty and on Barrett/Kentucky Street.
  • Domestic physical incident at West Buchanan.

Mexico Public Safety went to these calls on Monday, May 27, 2024:

  • Suspicious vehicle on Carrico.
  • Threats at South Olive and on Garfield and on West Robinson.
  • Suspicious person at 508 East Liberty.
  • Animal abuse or neglect on Howell Manor Court.
  • Child abuse or neglect at 4820 South Clark.

Car accidents:

No injuries reported following a two-car accident on Falcon at Amelia on Thursday, May 23, 2024. According to the Mexico Public Safety accident report it happened when a vehicle driven by 46-year-old Amy McCulley of Mexico backed out of a private driveway and into a parked vehicle on the street.

 

A two-car accident at Morris on Carrico on Friday, May 24, 2024. According to the Mexico Public Safety accident report it happened when a vehicle driven by 33-year-old Matthew English of Mexico entered the intersection without stopping and was hit by a vehicle driven by 34-year-old Kelsay Crabtree of Mexico. No injuries were reported.

 

A two-car accident on Agriculture at Love on Saturday, May 25, 2024. According to the Mexico Public Safety accident report it happened when a vehicle driven by 20-year-old Lance Campbell of Mexico stated he did not see a vehicle driven by 49-year-old Daryl Mills of Mexico and started to enter the intersection when a collision happened. No injuries were reported.

 

A one-car accident on Highway 54 at East Liberty on Sunday, May 26, 2024.

According to the Mexico Public Safety accident report it happened when a vehicle driven by 30-year-old Erica Buchanan of Pleasant Hill, Illinois was driving northbound on Highway 54.

As her vehicle was approaching East Liberty and was on the off ramp, the driver says she hit a pothole in the road.

This caused her vehicle to run off the right side of the road and hit a road sign.

The driver then overcorrected and the vehicle drove across the road and once again left the roadway and came to rest on the left shoulder of the off ramp leading to East Liberty.

No injuries were reported.
