Demolition Of Crown Linen Building Underway In Mexico
Demolition of the Crown Linen structure damaged by a fire nearly six weeks ago is getting underway in Mexico on Friday, June 14, 2024.
Crews anticipate working Friday and Saturday to drop the building and have West Promenade reopened by Monday, June 17th.
Marschel Wrecking of Fenton, Missouri is the demolition contractor.
Crown Linen has indicated to the City of Mexico that they plan to rebuild at that location.
Mexico Public Safety responded to a fire at one of the Crown Linen buildings in the 200 block of South Jefferson Street on Friday, May 3, 2024.
An investigation determined the fire started in an area where cloth items, often used to clean chemicals were stored.
