A Mexico, Missouri man is safe after being stranded on top of his vehicle and rescued by firefighters from the Little Dixie Fire Protection District during the afternoon hours of Wednesday, July 3, 2024.
According to Little Dixie Fire Chief Bill Albus, three of his firefighters responded to Audrain Road 820 in Mexico around 4pm on Wednesday afternoon.
Upon arrival firefighters found the man had driven into the high water and was sitting on the roof.
A large heavily loaded firefighter vehicle backed into the water and the firefighters rescued the man.
No injuries were reported.
Little Dixie Fire Protection is reminding all drivers not to drive through flooded roads.
And if you are driving and come upon rapidly rising waters, turn around and find an alternate route.
