Callaway County deputies along with several law enforcement agencies responded to a shots-fired call near Paradise Lakes in Portland during the overnight hours of Friday, August 2, 2024.
Callaway County Sheriff’s office posted on on their Facebook page just after midnight that it is believed that the suspect fled his home before law enforcement arrived and deputies have expanded their search area.
The suspect is described as a white man in his mid-30’s, last seen wearing black shorts, and no shirt.
In an update around 3:30 Saturday morning Callaway County Sheriff’s office said the suspect could not be found.
After obtaining a search warrant, deputies recovered several firearms from the suspects residence.
Officials are urging residents in the area to call 911 to report any sightings of suspicious activity.
It is unknown if the suspect is still armed.
The office says that two people had suffered serious injuries, but the injuries did not occur from gunfire.
