Mexico Public Safety Department Report 9/18/2024

Calls for service:

Mexico Public Safety responded to the following calls for service on Tuesday, September 17, 2024:

  • A fight in progress at the West Breckenridge apartment building.
  • Vandalism on Ringo.
  • Suspicious person at the West Plaza Shopping Center and on South Muldrow.
  • Domestic verbal incident at West Pearson, and Omar, and on Mary/Jefferson.
  • An animal bite reported at Eagle Drive.
  • Harassment/stalking at 413 East Liberty.
  • Suspicious vehicle on Huntingfield Court.

Car accidents:

Two Mexico women are recovering from injuries following a two-car accident at the 1500 block of East Liberty during the morning hours of Tuesday, September 17, 2024.

According to the Mexico Public Safety accident report it happened when a vehicle driven by 64-year-old Carla Barker of Mexico activated a left turn signal and then stopped to turn into the Triple L Storage.

68-year-old Mary Hudnut who was driving a vehicle looked down for a moment and did not see Barker’s vehicle had stopped and crashed into the back of Barker’s vehicle.

Both vehicles sustained significant damage and were towed from the scene.

Both Hudnut and Barker were evaluated by EMS, and both refused transport to the hospital.

 

No injuries reported following a two-car accident on South Morris at West Breckenridge during the evening hours of Tuesday, September 17, 2024.

According to the Mexico Public Safety accident report it happened when a vehicle driven by 18-year-old Tristan Turner of Mexico slowed down and activated the left turn signal to to East on West Breckenridge and came to a stop to wait for oncoming traffic.

While stopped Turner’s vehicle was hit from behind by a vehicle driven by 33-year-old Casey Cuno of Mexico.
