Week number six of the high school football season has arrived. Checking out some of the games in the area for Friday, October 4, 2024.

Mexico and Fulton play the 134th Highway 54 Bowl in Mexico.

Pre-game starts around 6:30 with an interview from head coach Steve Haag.

Kickoff is at 7pm.

  • The Country 96 (95.7)- Game of the Week will see North Callaway hosting Louisiana.
  • Blair Oaks travels to Blue Valley Southwest.
  • Boonville hosts California.
  • In a battle of two undefeated teams Van-Far is at home against Bowling Green.
  • Capital City has a home game against Helias.
  • Centralia hosts Highland.
  • Battle is at home against Smith-Cotton.
  • Jefferson City travels to Hickman.
  • Rock Bridge hosts Camdenton.
  • Southern Boone is on the road at Eldon.
  • Hallsville is at home against Osage.
  • Hannibal travels to Kirksville.
  • Hermann hosts Sullivan.
  • Clark County is on the road at Macon.
  • Mark Twain goes to Montgomery County.
  • Moberly hosts Marshall.
  • Monroe City is at home playing Palmyra.

The Mexico High School girls tennis team defeated Fulton 5-4 on Thursday, October 3, 2024.

Mexico head coach Kim Costley said “We are living a bit on the edge finishing the match 5-4 once again.

It takes the whole team doing their part on nights like these. #1 and #2 doubles continue to provide a strong start each night out.”

Next week the Lady Bulldogs will compete in the conference tournament at Fulton and district tournament in Hannibal.

The New York Mets eliminated the Milwaukee Brewers 4-2 in the Major League Baseball Playoffs on Thursday, October 3, 2024.

The Mets advance to play the Philadelphia Phillies in the Divisional Round of the Playoffs.

Game 1 takes place tomorrow (Saturday) afternoon in Philadelphia.


The Atlanta Falcons defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 36-30 on NFL Thursday Night Football.

Falcons quarterback Kirk Cousins finished the game with 509 passing yards and four touchdowns.

It marked just the 25th time a quarterback has gone over 500 passing yards in an NFL game.
