Mexico High School Football players honored teachers at an appreciation dinner held at the Mexico High School on Thursday, October 3, 2024.
The tradition was started by Mexico head coach Steve Haag in 2014.
Coach Haag says “The event is a time for our players to thank the people who have been part of their educational experience.
The players get to choose one person and we invite them to a dinner and provide them with a t-shirt.
The players and teachers both really enjoy the time visiting outside the educational setting.
As a son of parents who spent 65 years in education I know that it is a lot of fun for the teachers to be thanked for their hard work.”
